Montreux Meta Resort

Montreaux, Nevada - 1991

The 15 acre Montrêux Meta Resort lies in the Sierra Nevada Foothills on the east flank of Mount Rose.  This 130,000 square foot project is designed to provide multi-use space for the physical and psychic regeneration of individuals and businesses.

The energy efficient buildings integrate with the natural topography of the land.  Solar energy is used to supplement hot water supplies and heat the swimming pool.  Local ponds retain storm water runoff, eliminating erosion and supplying water storage for irrigation.  The buildings southern orientation allows for winter heating, while special glazing and shading devices reduce solar gain during the summer.

This wooded resort site features organic gardens and native drought tolerant landscaping, providing a setting and source for reflection, education, and healing.
