Torrey, Utah - 2002

Kirsch Center for Environmental Studies

This 1,200 square foot house is located in Utah’s red rock country, on a bluff overlooking a river valley.  The clients wanted a simple home that works with the local materials, site and climate, with its summer and winter extremes.

The house makes use of the local red rock, thus visually connecting the design to its site.  The exterior stucco is also colored with similar hue as the surrounding terrain.  A large sheltered porch with shade trellis extends the usable indoor space during the warmer months.
