Buddy Williams- Master Planning, Landscape & Architecture

Buddy Williams is currently a 'designer-for-hire', residing in the San Francisco bay area, collaborating with architects on a range of scales from master plans to construction document detailing and was most recently the Director of Sustainability for a large, environmentally aware architectural firm in Manchester, England. He has worked as an architect in Boston and San Francisco. Other professions have included carpentry and general contracting, a surveyor for a medieval cathedral in the south of France, graphic artist and commissioned architectural photographer. Buddy holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from U. C. Berkeley and an Undergraduate Degree in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University. Buddy spent 1 1/2 years in South Africa and the Kingdom of Lesotho working as a designer and builder on various ecological and extremely affordable housing projects, landscape integrated school designs and ecovillage sites.

Together Sim and Buddy have worked on a variety of ecologically informed master plans, college buildings and ecovillages, one of which established the first biological waste water treatment system to be constructed for an affordable housing project in the USA.
